A Structural Theory of Harnesses

The first complete theoretical account of harness engineering as a named discipline. Why generalized intelligence lives in the arrangement around the generator, not inside the model. Convergent biological and frontier-AI evidence, and a mechanism catalog of six harness properties. Built on anneal-memory as the §9 existence proof.

Three Layers Underneath Agent Orchestration

Companion to the harness paper. Why current agent-orchestration platforms lack persistent memory infrastructure, and why compounding intelligence requires operators to wire substrate, methodology, and config layers independently.

The Cost-Parity Reversal

The augmentation thesis. Absent a paradigm change, replacing human labor with AI costs more and produces worse results than fusing human and machine through a harness — wherever the work carries judgment that can't be fully mechanized. Harness design as the architectural primitive of the augmentation era, not the substitution era.

Anarchism with Invariants

The identity layer of the harness argument. Emergent agent identity through seed primitives, lived interaction, and code invariants — and why declared identity doesn't accrue.

Iron Man Ruined AI Before It Even Started

How I built an AI partnership system that actually works. Architecture decisions, temporal memory graduation, multi-model consultation, and why most AI tooling solves the wrong problem. Complete with templates and a public repo.

Nobody Operating

Your AI remembers you now — your name, your job, your preferences. So why does every new conversation still feel like meeting a stranger who read your dossier?

RAYGUN OS

A cognitive-architecture framework for minds that run on experiment rather than discipline — how I actually work, written down. Grounded in the science, and honest about what's proven versus what's hypothesis.

Nemo Operans

Nemo Operans is where the writing happens. Essays by me, and partnership pieces written as Phill Clapham & flow — a human and a Claude working the argument together through a persistent-memory architecture that carries continuity across hundreds of sessions. Neither of us writes those alone, which is the same claim the essays make about everything else. Each piece carries its real byline.

I built the infrastructure: scheduled publishing pipeline, identity system, SEO automation, persistent memory. The writing spans harness engineering, the augmentation thesis, AI identity and phenomenology, cognitive dependency, and political frame analysis.

The name is Latin for "nobody operating" — the state where the system produces without a single operator at the controls.
